(Expertise réalisée dans le cadre de la mission de l'étude de faisabilité et d'APS d'aménagement de 12 falaj dans le Sultanat d'Oman par le Bureau SOGREAH - Contrat passé avec le Ministère de l'Agriculture et des Pêches)

Nota : Le falaj (pluriel aflaj) dans le Sultanat d'Oman correspond à la technique hydraulique et à la technologie sociale multiséculaires des qanat-s en Iran, qui en seraient l'origine, des foggara en Algérie et des Khettara au Maroc. Il s'agit de galeries drainantes des aquifères qui en relèvent le niveau hydraulique gravitaire dans des situations géomorphologiques et topographiques favorables jusqu'à ce que l'eau sorte à l'air libre et permette une irrigation gravitaire.
